Name the building where our Prime Minister unfurls the National flag on 15th of August? Who built the Red Fort at Delhi? OBJECTIVES : OBJECTIVES To make the students enable to know about the architectural development during Mughal empire. To make them enable to understand the salient features pattern of Mughal empire. MUGHAL ARCHITECTURE : MUGHAL ARCHITECTURE FEATURES— Indo-Persian style of architecture. Use of marble. Delicate decorative design. Different type of arches and beautiful minarates. Main structure is surrounded by beatiful gardens. Lettering in caligraphic style. Geometrical design. Simplicity and lack of adornment. . Humayun’s Tomb. : Humayun’s Tomb. An architectural mastrpiece, is the burial site of the Mughal emperor Humayun. It is a colourful blend of red sandstone and white, black, and red marble. An interior dome is set inside its gleaming exterior dome. Humayun’s widow built the tomb in the mid-1500’s. She was later buried there. The Taj Mahal : The Taj Mahal Shah Jahan, ordered the building of the Taj Mahal to honour his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It took 20,000 men, 21 years to complete ( 1631- 1652 ).It is included in the seven wonders of the world. It is made of red sandstone, and covers several hectares. Within the walls of the fort lie the remains of the imperial palase and other Mughal structures. Shah Jahan built the Red Fort between 1639 and 1648. Slide 32: RED FORT- DELHI The Jama Masjid : The Jama Masjid One of India’ largest mosque, is known for its beauty.It is made of marble and sandstone, with three marble domes. The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built the mosque during the mid-1600’s.
