FEATURES OF THE TEMPLE ARCHITECTURE Vimana and the series of panels depicting Gods & dance postures etc. They have pillared halls. They have high outer walls with entrance gateways. The gateways have gopurams above them. They consists of many storeys. The last storey ends in a small piece of stone. The pillars have rich and intricate carvings.

FEATURES OF STUPAS : 

FEATURES OF STUPAS Stupa, also tope or dagoba, hemispherical or bell-shaped masonry monument designed as a Buddhist (or occasionally Jain) shrine or reliquary. The stupa form derives from the eight mounds under which the remains of the Buddha were buried after his death, following Hindu burial custom, and was the basis of Buddhist temple Architecture.

The Great Stupa at Sanchi, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, central India, was constructed between the 3rd century bc and the early 1st century ad. The solid temple is enclosed by an outer stone fence with toranas (gateways) on all four sides. Devotees circle the dome, which represents the world mountain. A harika (four-sided enclosure) atop the dome represents the heavens and surrounds the yasti, a spire with three chatras (discs) that represents the axis of the universe. SANCHI STUPA

The Jagadimbi temple was built in the 11th century and is situated in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, central India. Khajuraho is a famous tourist and archaeological site known for its temples dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu, and Jain patriarchs. It was one of the capitals of the kings of the Candella dynasty, who developed a realm between the 9th and the 11th centuries. Of the area’s 85 original temples, about 20 are still well preserved.
