gas exchange:

gas exchange Respiration is a process during which an organism inhales the air with the oxygen and exhales air with carbon dioxide .

Oxygen participates in chemical processes of decomposition of complex substances RESULT : release of energy

energy is important for metabolism, growth, mobility, nutrition, reproduction and development.

cellular respiration:

cellular respiration Single-celled organisms absorb the oxygen from the water and suck it in through the cell walls . Multicellular algae also use the surface of their bodies to breathe.

organs for gas exchange:

organs for gas exchange Plants use lentils and stoma to breathe. Fish, molluscs use gills to breathe. Insects use tracheae to breathe. Terrestrial animals use lungs to breathe. The vertebrates also use their skin to breathe: frogs, humans.
