?’s :

?’s 1. HUGE!!! However, modern teaching can get away from the education a bit. However, teachers have to have it. 4. It’s amazing; everything is accessible, regardless of where it is or how rare it is. Plus, the preservation is much better. You don’t have to hand-copy something any more. 5. The steam press and the mass production of printed materials dramatically increased the way schools were run and taught. You have to think about visual aids as well and their usefulness.

Old vs. new :

Old vs. new

Mr. Ralph Lentz :

Mr. Ralph Lentz BA at Appalachian, currently pursuing masters in Philosophy and Theology at Wales Univeristy. Teaches Ancient Med. History and Theology.

?’s :

?’s I have appreciated the incorporation of "smartboard" technology into classrooms--i.e., the incorporation of integrated computer, projectors, dvd/video capabilities in the classrooms On the negative side, the recent influx of cell-phones and laptop computers into classrooms in the last 5 years are, in my opinion, a real impediment to education.  One of the reasons I do not allow students to have laptops in my class is that they are not able to stay off of Facebook, EBay, etc. during the lectures.

Media Uses :

Media Uses

Not one :

Not one web misuse

?’s…Mr. Lentz continued :

?’s…Mr. Lentz continued . I have utilized Google Books and on-line data bases extensively in my research of the ancient world, and of early modern Europe.  Both of these electronic "archives" have proved invaluable to my research The Web and other digital media have made access to primary and secondary sources infinitely easier to obtain.  But the new technology has not made interpreting primary and secondary sources any easier.  That still must be done by the scholar--by her or his own creativity, curiosity, and discipline.  This is why I don't believe computers or technology will ever replace human scholarship

Mr. Nicholas Bailey :

Mr. Nicholas Bailey Currently a History teaching major Likes American Civil War History Dixie

?’s :

?’s Being a history major, it definitely helps me do research and find sources both online and through the library website. I think with History it’s still pretty much hands-on. You still have to research, read, and write the paper. Yea it’s easier but it’s hard work. My blackberry is awesome. No. I can’t type fast enough for one thing, and I think taking notes helps me remember certain things.
