WebQuests : WebQuests Originally developed by Dr. Bernie Dodge and Tom March in 1995 at San Diego State University. Involves students in research about a particular topic with the Internet being the primary tool. Students do NOT randomly search the Internet. WebQuests : WebQuests WebQuests focus on using information to incorporate analysis, synthesis, and evaluation into a single activity. Each WebQuest includes links to different web sites that have been reviewed for content and give students a starting point for their research. Format : Format Each WebQuest begins with an introduction and an explanation of the activity. Students complete the research. Students present their findings to the class. WebQuest Format : WebQuest Format Introduction Task Process Evaluation Resources Introduction : Introduction The introduction provides background for the WebQuest linking prior knowledge with the upcoming task. Task : Task Describes what students are expected to learn while participating in the WebQuest as well as how they will illustrate that knowledge. Process : Process Describes in detail exactly what students are expected to do and to create after completing the WebQuest. Evaluation : Evaluation Provides an instrument for students to assess the quality of their work.
