AEROBIC AND ANAEROBIC EXERCISE

Slide2:

AEROBIC FITNESS is the ability to exercise or compete for a long time without getting breathless. AEROBIC EXERCISE is performed at moderate levels of intensity for extended periods of time: 30 minutes rowing, 1 hour cycling, 2 hours walking, a water-aerobics/aqua aerobic lesson.

Slide4:

ANAEROBIC EXERCISE is related to high intensity activities, which last from mere seconds up to about 2 minutes: a sprint in Athletics, 50-meter swimming race, etc. Any activity after about two minutes will have a large aerobic metabolic component.
