Indian Fertilizer Industry:

Indian Fertilizer Industry

Introduction:

Introduction What is Fertilizer Essential Nutrients Fertilizer Sector

PowerPoint Presentation:

Agriculture which accounts for one fifth of GDP, provides sustenance to two-thirds of our population. Agriculture provides food for all India in terms of food grains. food grain production rose to about 218.20 million MT in 2009-10. More production fertilizers are required.

Fertilizer Policy by Government:

Fertilizer Policy by Government Fertilizers are made available to farmers at affordable prices. Urea is only controlled fertilizer. Phosphatic and Potassic are decontrolled fertilizes are sold at indicative maximum retail prices (MRPs). Financial support is also given on imported urea and decontrolled Phosphatic and Potassic fertilizers. Nutrient Based Subsidy Policy Ban on Export of Fertilizer

PowerPoint Presentation:

In addition to the retention price subsidy(RPS), subsidy is paid to the manufacturers of controlled fertilizers to cover the cost of transportation from the production plants to the consumption centers. The prices notified by the Central Government from time to time have been much lower than the cost of production.

Introduction to Industry :

Introduction to Industry India is the third largest producer of the agro-input i.e. Fertilizer. India produces both nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilizers in the domestic market. Urea and ammonium are the two popularly manufactured nitrogenous fertilizers in India. The various companies dedicated to the manufacture of fertilizers also produce straight phosphatic fertilizers such as SSP and complex fertilizers such as DAP.

BIOFERTILIZER:

BIOFERTILIZER A biofertilizer is a substance which contains living microorganisms. When applied to seed, plant surfaces, or soil, colonizes the rhizoshpere or the interior of the plant and promotes growth by increasing the supply or availability of primary nutrients to the host plant. Bio-fertilizers add nutrients through the natural processes of nitrogen fixation, solubilising phpsphorus , and stimulating plant growth through the synthesis of growth-promoting substances. Bio-fertilizers can be expected to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The microorganisms in bio-fertilizers restore the soil's natural nutrient cycle and build soil organic matter. Through the use of bio-fertilizers, healthy plants can be grown, while enhancing the sustainability and the health of the soil. Bio-fertilizers eco friendly organic agro-input and more cost-effective than chemical fertilizer.

Types Of BIOFERTILIZER:

Types Of BIOFERTILIZER Rhizobium . Azotobacter . Azospirillum . Blue green algae(BGA). Anabaena. Azolla phosphate- solubilizing bacteria(PSB) Mycorrhiza Pseudomonas tricoderma .

Analysis of opportunities and Threat in Fertilizer Industry:

Analysis of opportunities and Threat in Fertilizer Industry Opportunities Per capita fertilizer consumption is low New joint ventures Deregularisation Fast growing population 2/3 population still depends on farming as a source of livelihood.

Threats:

Threats Uncertainty prevailing over policy Late payment of commission Shortage of feedstock Biofertilizers Organic Fertilizer
