Toddler vomiting Toddler Enjoys Vomiting!? My son is 20 months old. Today He was eating a cereal bar. He put too much in his mouth, gagged and then vomited. He then rubbed some vomit on his high chair and clothing then proceeded to try and eat the Vomit. Then he must have thought it was fun because he purposely started gagging without food in his mouth, vomited, laughed and continued to repeat this process. After not being able to get any more up, he ate more food then did it again. Has anyone else had this problem? Eating disorders are prevalent in my family. Could this behavior be hereditary ? I think he is a bit young for an eating disorder. He may be responding to your reaction. How did you react to to the situation? If you acted all shocked or laughed at him he would want to repeat it. He might want the attention. I think if he does it again you should just quickly clean it up and try not to overreact. I would also not let him continue to eat if he keeps making himself gag. Just take him down and tell him, “you must be all done because you are playing with your food”.

Anytime a child has loose stools when they do not normally for more than a week – I would call her pediatrician for a stool test. Explain to the Dr. and he / she will request the proper test. It may come back normal. My girls had an issue with this on and off since they were just under one. We found out it was the city water causing it so we use bottled water for everything – One of my girls also vomited when she was upset – and then she started vomiting fo rno reason at night – we are still trying to figure out if it is milk or sugar that is the cuse of that.

They now do not get whole milk – and only 100% juice as well as NO city water and both the vomiting and loose stools have stopped. If it only happens after shots – I would be a little concerned as they do not usually get loose stools from shots. A fever , maybe and maybe be sleepy. Def. call and discuss with your pediatrician – like I said she may have a slight allergy or her body just cannot handle change. If that is the case you will need to take small steps when introducing new things to her.

has anyone seen a case of stomach bug but no vomit and diarrhea?my toddler has fever and stomach pain- pladvice my toddler has fever of above 102F which comes and goes twice in a day..she isnt eating anything and complains of stomach hurting …doctor said would be viral so no medicines..but i am really wondering isnt stomach virus accompanied by vomit and diarrhea…my child isnt having those classic symptoms of stomach flu ..should i get another diagnosis or let the flu run it course and go out as the dr suggested…any advice I would get a second opinion. Could be a viral but it could be something else also. Ask for a Streph test, and a CBC, also ask about pneumonia. There is a rare pneumonia with no coughing, just fever and stomach aches. As a nurse and a parent be persistant .

Prone to mutation, it regularly produces nonresistant strains; has caused many epidemics; and is also responsible for pandemics, in which entire continents are affected. Type B influenza virus is the strain responsible for smaller infection outbreaks. Once infected with this virus, the immune system successfully resists this type of virus for many years. This type commonly infects uninfected children aged between 5-14 years. Type C influenza virus is a very mild strain of the infection, similar to symptoms of a common cold. This can be treated with bed rest and plenty of fluid intake.

diarrhea in my toddler? what can it be? my 2 year old son has diarhea more like just loose stools. he only dirtied one nappy since morning, he has no pain , no vomiting, no fever . he is happy and content. his diarrhea was a liitle bit but i noticed there was a little clear mucus around the poo . what can it be? i have never seen it before when he had diarrhea. what can it be? he is running around ,eating , happy. that sounds ok , your son could be teething, that happens to my son, every time he is teething he will get the poops, all mucus around the poop is very normal, I ask the doc that same question, he said some people can have more then others, it is there just to help it come out easier. just be sure that your son is taking in fulids , everything will be fine.
