What are Expectancy Effects? Expectancy Effects deal with the relationship between: Teacher Characteristics Student Expectations of Students Achievement

Again, what are Expectancy Effects? : 

Again, what are Expectancy Effects? Expectancy Effects deal with the relationship between: Teacher ____________ Student __________ of Students ___________

For example… : 

For example… …if you set a high level of expectations … …students will have room to grow and succeed.

But… : 

But… …if you set a low level of expectations … …students will have no motivation to improve!

Also! : 

Also! Keep in mind that “…teacher expectations and the amount and type of attention they give students are also related to the characteristics of students.” (Rink, pg. 57)

When you set Expectations… : 

When you set Expectations… One of two things happen: *Your expectations will be fulfilled – leading to feelings of accomplishment. OR *Your expectations will not be fulfilled – leading to disappointment.

In conclusion… It’s OK to set a high level of standards as long as you are able to ___________ with students. Once you have done so, you can begin to build ___________ between you and the students. And with that said, students will be more likely to reach your _________________________________!!
