Who Does It Effect? : 

Who Does It Effect? Single Gender Classes Class Size Girls: more concerned about others Boys: competitive Depends on learning styles Girls receive a more personal education. Without the boys in the class they can be less distracted. Boys get to be more like boys; competitive, rough, and generally more involved with being the best. Most middle school students prefer a small to medium class. Large: offers more opinions but also more distractions. Medium: even opinions less distractions Small: fewer opinions, closer to teacher, few to no distractions.

Single Gender Classes : 

Single Gender Classes Boys Girls Self concerned Less concerned about others Competitive Not as involved More demanding Less creative Group concerns Work well together Competitive in a not too obvious way More creative More willing/less set in certain ways

Mixed Gender : 

Mixed Gender Opinions from opposite perspectives Difference in opinion Rival competition Opportunity to work with opposite gender

Small Classes : 

Small Classes Less people to distract Easier to keep classroom control Less opinions Easier discussions

Medium Classes : 

Medium Classes Equal opinions to distractions Benefit of more opinions and better group activities

Large Classes : 

Large Classes More opinions More ways to look at the same problem More distractions Less one on one with teacher

Student : 

Student Learning styles effect the results of classroom atmospheres Easily distracted children? Very competitive children? Personal preferences

Teacher : 

Teacher Can prefer different classes May not be good at controlling large groups My prefer to only teach one gender
