Games revolving around the kicking of a ball have been played in many countries throughout history. According to FIFA, the "very earliest form of the game for which there is scientific evidence was an exercise from a military manual dating back to the second & 3rd centuries BC in China". The history of football in England dates back to at least the 8th century.

What Is Football ? Today, football is a sport played between 2 teams of 11 players with a spherical ball. It is played on a rectangular field of grass or green artificial turf, with a goal in the middle of each of short ends . In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms, while the field players typically use their feet to kick the ball into position .
