SPECIALIZED LANGUAGES : IPL - Information Processing Language , combined elements of IPL with the lambda calculus produces the programming language LISP LISP - Programming language that was designed for easy manipulation of data strings. PROLOG - A general purpose language often associated with artificial intelligence and computational linguistics. SPECIALIZED LANGUAGES Slide 4: APPLICATIONS ... Natural language processing : Gives machines the ability to read and understand the languages human beings speak. Some straight forward applications of natural language processing include information retrieval and machine translation. Natural language processing Slide 7: Speech Recognition is a technology that allows the computer to identify and understand words spoken by a person using a microphone or telephone. The ultimate goal of the technology is to be able to produce a system that can recognize with 100% accuracy all words that are spoken by any person. Slide 8: Now you can speak to your computer and it can speak back. In other words, you can't just ask your computer how he/she is feeling? Rather, you can talk to your computer using a set of pre-defined commands and instructions (i.e., a script). Your computer will respond in the same way (also using a scripted language). For example, you can say: "File Open", and the computer would respond: "Select the file". Or you can say: "Edit Find" and the computer would ask: "Find What?". Slide 9: Voice Dictation is integrated into the e-Speaking application including 26 different Dictation Voice Commands Speaking is easier and more intuitive than selecting buttons and menu items SOFTWARES Available: : Dragon NaturallySpeaking App XVoice Speech Recognition Open Mind Speech IVOS SpeechVibe 2.0.4 Fake Voice 1.691 SOFTWARES Available: Slide 13: Tetris Tic Tac Toe Computer chess Age of Empires and many more ... FACIAL RECOGNITION SYSTEM ... : Computer application for automatically identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. FACIAL RECOGNITION SYSTEM ... Handwriting Recognition ... : Handwriting Recognition ... Handwriting recognition is the ability of a computer to receive and interpret intelligible handwritten input. The image of the written text may be sensed "off line" from a piece of paper by optical scanning (optical character recognition). Alternatively, the movements of the pen tip may be sensed "on line", for example by a pen-based computer screen surface. High-performance fighter aircraft: : In these programs, speech recognizers have been operated successfully in fighter aircraft with applications including: setting radio frequencies, commanding an autopilot system, setting steer-point coordinates and weapons release parameters, and controlling flight displays. High-performance fighter aircraft: Slide 20: MYCIN – Identify bacteria causing severe infections, such as bacteremia and meningitis, and to recommend antibiotics, with the dosage adjusted for patient's body weight. DENDRAL - To help organic chemists in identifying unknown organic molecules, by analyzing their mass spectra and using knowledge of chemistry. XCON - eXpert CONfigurer Slide 21: EXPERTAX - asks questions about its users' financial state and advised on how to minimise tax while maximising investment. ONCOCIN - Routine treatment of cancer patients, Consultation and data processing NUENGINEER - Generalizes many existing Intelligent Search Algorithms such as Heuristic Search, Genetic Algorithms, Optimization, Gradient, and Neural Networks Slide 23: Robotics is the science and technology of robots, and their design, manufacture, and application Intelligence is required for robots to be able to handle such tasks as object manipulation and navigation, with sub-problems of localization, mapping and motion planning. Slide 24: Applications: Outer Space Military Hospitals Farms Disaster Areas Entertainment Technology Behind Robots: : Technology Behind Robots: SENSORS: They Uses sensors and intelligent algorithms to avoid obstacles and navigate stairs. MICROCONTROLLER SYSTEMS: Intelligent electronic devices used inside robots Slide 26: The AUVSI International Aerial Robotics Competition is the longest running aerial robotic event, held annually since 1991. This competition involves fully autonomous flying robots performing tasks that, at the time posed, are undemonstrated anywhere world wide. Robot Software : Robot Software Example: pick and place task on Robot: Move to P1 (a general safe position)Move to P2 (an approach to P3)Move to P3 (a position to pick the object)Close gripperMove to P4 (an approach to P5)Move to P5 (a position to place the object)Open gripperMove to P1 and finish Future : : Chandrayaan-II will be launched by 2012. It will have a lander that will drop a small robot on the moon, which will pick samples, analyse data and send the data back. Bristled robots will help clean pipes. Love and Emotion. Humans will themselves be implanted with microchips and/or genetically altered as to be just as high-performantce as the robots Future : Slide 31: References: www.ibm.com www.library.thinkquest.org www.iscid.org www.wikipedia.org www.formal.stanford.edu www.youtube.com authorGEN Technologies Pvt.
