THE CANDLER ERA :THE CANDLER ERA 1891- Atlanta entrepreneur Asa G. Candler, sole proprietors of Coca-Cola.
1892- Georgia corporation named The Coca-Cola Company.
1893 - In January "Coca-Cola" was registered in the U.S. Patent office.
He promoted the product incessantly, distributing coupons for a complimentary glass of Coca-Cola, souvenir fans, calendars, clocks, urns and countless novelties, all depicting the trademark.
1895 - "Coca-Cola is now drunk in every state and territory in the United States."
BOTTLING BEGINS :BOTTLING BEGINS 1894 - in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Joseph A. Biedenharn, the first bottler of Coca-Cola.
1899 - Benjamin F. Thomas and Joseph B. Whitehead of Chattanooga, Tennessee – the exclusive rights to bottle and sell Coca-Cola in practically the entire United States.
The development of what is today the worldwide Coca-Cola bottling system.
PROTECTING A VALUABLE NAME :PROTECTING A VALUABLE NAME In the early 1900’s - protecting the product and the package from imitation: “Demand the genuine" and "Accept no substitutes“.
1916 – approval of the unique contour bottle designed by the Root Glass Company of Terre Haute, Indiana.
MAN NAMED WOODRUFF :MAN NAMED WOODRUFF 1919 - a group of investors headed by Ernest Woodruff and W. C. Bradley purchased The Coca-Cola Company for $25 million.
500,000 shares of its common stock were sold publicly for $40 per share.
1923 - Robert Winship Woodruff, Ernest Woodruff's son, was elected president of the Company.
His management established quality standards for every phase of the bottling operation.
By the end of 1928, Coca-Cola sales in bottles had for the first time exceeded fountain sales.
REFRESHMENT KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES :REFRESHMENT KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES 1928 - Coca-Cola and the Olympic Games: the first lighting of the Olympic flame and the first sale of Coke at an Olympiad.
A SYMBOL OF FRIENDSHIP :A SYMBOL OF FRIENDSHIP 1941 - The entry of the United States into the war brought an order from Robert Woodruff: "to see that every man in uniform gets a bottle of Coca-Cola for 5 cents, wherever he is and whatever it costs the Company."
More than 5 billion bottles of Coke were consumed by military service personnel during the war.
In many areas, it gave local people their first taste of Coca-Cola.
As the world emerged from a time of conflict, Coca-Cola emerged as a worldwide symbol of friendship and refreshment.

Cokelore :Cokelore Coca-Cola became carbonated by accident. Coca-Cola was once considered anti-Semitic for refusing to do business in Israel. The modern image of Santa Claus was created by Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola used to contain cocaine. Coca-Cola is an effective spermicide. Pouring Coca-Cola onto a piece of raw pork will cause worms to come crawling out of the meat.
