The state flower is: blue bonnet the state tree is a pecan. picture here. State Flag : State Flag Texas’s state flag has red white and blue for America Because it’s one of the fifty states in our nation. The star because its called the lone star state. THE LONE STAR STATE : THE LONE STAR STATE The way Texas got that nickname the lone star state is because Texas’s symbol is a star. Also because that’s where cowboys roomed and the sign of a cowboy is also a star. Texas State History : Texas State History The Apache Kiowa lived in the mountains and plains of Texas. Alonso Alvarez de Pineda was the first European explorer to come to Texas. TEXAS : TEXAS Another interesting fact about Texas is It was part of the Louisiana Purchase… Statehood : This state became the 28th state in the United States in 1845. The first Governor of the state was James Pinckney Henderson. Statehood Government : Government National Government The senators are Kattatchison and John Cornyn. State Government The current governor is Rick Perry. The average high temperature in January is: 59Deg The average yearly precipitation is: 36 in. Natural Resources : Natural Resources Water The Nechee river one of the lakes are the Waco lake. Texas has many minerals coal is one of them. Places to Visit : Places to Visit Texas has many great places to visit but here are a few I would suggest one is Dallas, Texas also Austin, Texas and the last one is Irving, Texas. Famous People : Famous People A few famous people are Marion Barber Cowboys RB, Tony Romo Cowboys QB ,and lastly Terrell Owens the Cowboys WR.
