In U.S , benefit management is a tricky task . An employee’s benefits are divided in 3 big sections : Defined Benefits - contains the government benefit policies which each employer has to provide. Defined Contributions - employees are allowed to invest section of there salaries on shares . Health and welfare - employer provides various health and benefit plans where employee and employer contribute in the premiums of various plans .

TBA:

TBA TBA stands for Total Benefits Administration. It is a proprietry system developed by Hewitt Associates for the purpose of administring HR benefits to our clients. The TBA system consist of collection of tools, databases and computer programs that all work together to serve our benefits outsoursing clients.

TBA System Interfaces.:

TBA System Interfaces. Batch – Loads HR data, update pending requests, starts Activities for different populations. GUI – A Graphical User Interface used by IDG (Implementation Delivery Group), ODG (On Going Delivery Group), CSAs (Costumer Service Associates) to enter requests and fix edits.

IVR – Interactive Voice Response, allow participants to call and make requests or check information. YBR (Web) – Your Benefits Resourse allows participants to view and update benefit information over the internet. Workbench – A front-end interface used by development teams, that accesses the databases on the TBA system.

ECHO:

ECHO ECHO is a comprehensive testing tool for Creating and Storing test plans. Recording tests and automatically re-executing them Generating management reports about testing activities and status .

GUI:

GUI GUI(Graphical User Interface) is a means by which user intracts with a computer. It relies on pictures (icons) to represent objects and concepts used in working enviornment. Hewitt uses GUI as a means to guide user through a TBA system.

CICS:

CICS CICS is IBM’s general purpose online transaction processing software. It is mainly used for : Zapping tables and refreshing provisons. Freezing the system date. Updating the GUI client list

MAINFRAME:

MAINFRAME IBM mainframes are large computer systems produced by IBM from 1952 to the present. During the 1960s and 1970s, the term mainframe computer was almost synonymous with IBM products due to their market share. Current mainframes in IBM's line of business computers are developments of the basic design of the IBM System/360.

ADB2:

ADB2 ADB2 is a software tool for browsing or editing data in DB2 tables. Browsing is viewing a table’s content without changing them. Editing is making changes to a table’s content Use selection criteria for single or multiple fields to retrive specific row in table. Can join any two tables.

Product Development Cycle:

Product Development Cycle Base Environment It is where all the initial TBA programming is done, base code is developed here QAC Environment Primary testing environment Client teams do most of the testing basically Unit and Integration testing This environment is also used to configure and retest the system Staging Environment Mirrors client production database Regression Test large parts of the system to check whether they are working fine or not Performance and Load testing Finally database is migrated to Prod environment

Understanding Requirement Specification Configuring Client’s System Designing and Modifying Test Cases Finding the correct record for test cases from DB2 Mainframe Database Testing those Test case and recording them Recording the bugs Testing is done on YBR and GUI

Then bugs are reported to the configuration group . We also Fix those bugs by re configuring the Clients system. Configuration is done by rechecking all the provisions/requirements again.

If any modification like adding some new selection rules or modifying the existing ones is needed then we also do that Finally the system is again tested before sending to staging environment In staging we do retest all the test cases for unit as well as integration testing before finally sign off the system and migrating it to Prod
