Slide 1: 

Research on Trailers and what I can use…

Slide 2: 

Kids How the characters are introduced within the first 4 seconds. Slow motion cuts moves onto fast paced with the change of music No speech Flashing of reviews from top magazines and newspapers. Repetition of the name of the film “Kids” Finishes with the same shot that it started with.

Slide 3: 

Thirteen Starts with the storyline Black and white to colored cut’s Zoom on outfit with a pan down Zoom out transition Fast cuts Names of actors and actresses flashing up at the end.

Slide 4: 

Wassup Rockers The use of the “gangster” shouting the name of the film Wassup Rockers linking the film title to the film. Low angle shot of skateboard skating along The Mise En Scene used within Wassup rockers will fit in really well within my own personal production. The shot that is used where all the friends are sat against the wall showing the internal friendship amongst them all.

Slide 5: 

Cry Baby The fact that everything is perceived as normal,perfect and well behaved until they introduce Cry Baby. When Cry Baby is introduced we see his feet first before the camera shows us the rest of him. The outfits used within this will fit into my Rock n Roll theme I have chosen to use throughout my trailer.

Slide 6: 

Quadrophenia Another Rock n Roll/Mod type themed film, where I can use examples of the outfits shown in Quadrophenia within my production. Starting the trailer with a gig/band/party of people at a high angled shot

Slide 7: 

City Of God The use of tying the beach,nightlife,romance and then disaster within the first 20seconds of the trailer. Special effects used within the whole trailer. (fading to sepia, transition of cutting into 3 etc)

Slide 8: 

The Virgin Suicides Special effects used to change the colour of the shot Writing instead of a narrator Shot of all 4 sisters then a zoom into the main sister The change in pace and colour used within the shots when the change of mood happens (from innocent to saucy) “Love, sex, death, passion, fear, obsession” repeated during the end of the trailer.

Slide 9: 

Lords Of Dogtown Before showing the institution right at the beginning it is cut into at around 14 seconds. Cuts on skateboard/surf scene. Links to friendship and doing what they all love which is skateboarding and surfing. Close up on skateboard being skated on. Police sirens are heard before the police are seen.

Slide 10: 

The Wackness Graffiti font fits type of film Extreme close up of a tape being placed into a tape recorder and being played for the sound to instantly start and the trailer begin Special mind bubble effects are used within the trailer Music stops and a dramatic noise is used to emphasise the fact that the guy is a virgin.

Slide 11: 

Trainspotting Kids run past and along the train tracks until the camera can no longer see them Character talks to the camera making a list of what the audience shouldn’t be doing Camera pans out to reveal his tied to a train track as he is telling the camera.

Slide 12: 

Control All set in black and white to show the date of when it was set Building being the first thing we see at the beginning of the trailer Joy Division album shown then character talks about Joy Division Shots of band

Slide 13: 

Drugstore Cowboy Set out like the guy is being recorded by a camera shown through the trailer Character is telling the story instead of a narrator the main character who is also the narrator is introducing the character’s All characters are acting into the camera, blowing it kisses etc.

Slide 14: 

Human Traffic Character talking to camera Pan shot of a large group partying Cuts of drinking, partying etc All characters talking to the camera Shadow of person standing in front of a huge light window doing the Jesus sign
