An antique desk and a modern desk form conceived for writing and/or reading while standing up or while sitting on a high stool. Reduced back injuries or less back pain for usersPioneer: Pioneer Abby Brown, a sixth-grade teacher at Marine Elementary School in Minnesota. The desks first appeared on the education scene in 2007. Brown unknowingly launched a movement that is making its way throughout the country's schools.Stand Up Desk in Classroom: Stand Up Desk in Classroom Taller than traditional school desks. Students can choose stand up or sit on the height-adjustable stool. I can’t think of one reason why a classroom teacher wouldn’t want these.” “The desks help keep kids from getting bored or sleepy, the stations discourage kids from developing all-day slouch habits, which seems better for their growing bodies.”Research: Research One study compare the caloric daily output of students at stand-up stations vs. traditional desks.
