What is Leadership ? Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective, directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent.


What is Leadership? Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.


What Leadership means ? Inspiration Influence Implementation Result/Outcome


How Leaders carry out the process of Leadership? Leaders carry out the process of Leadership by applying : Leadership knowledge and (2) skill


Good Leaders are continually Working and studying To improve their Leadership knowledge and skill.


Theories of Leadership Trait Theory of Leadership and Process Theory of Leadership


Trait Theory of Leadership. Height,Intellegence,Extroversion,Fluency and other traits Followers. Process Theory of Leadership . Leaders Interaction Followers Resides in people Can be observed. Leaders


Knowledge and skills contribute directly to the process of Leadership while the other attributes give the leader certain characteristics that make him or her unique. Skills, knowledge and attributes make a Leader.


To be successful convince followers, not yourself or your superiors. You should be worthy of being followed.


Different people require different style of Leadership. You must know your people: Such as : Their needs, Emotion and motivation.


Situations : All situations are different. Traits have little consistency across situations; that is why Process theory of Leadership is more accurate.


What makes people want to follow a Leader ? People want to be guided by those they respect and they have clear sense of direction. To gain respect Leaders must be ethical. When a person decides to respect somebody the person doesn’t think about attributes. But they observe what the Leader Does, to know who the Leader actually is.


Self serving Leaders are not effective; Employees only obey them: Employees do not follow them.


The basis of leadership is Honorable character Selfless service


Successful Leaders concentrate on What they are : Such as beliefs, Character. What they know : Such as jobs, tasks and human nature What they do: such as implementing, motivating and providing direction.


Trust and confidence in Leadership is the single most reliable predictor of employee satisfaction.
