Then founded Aflatoun - in-school savings and financial education program for children from low income backgrounds that promotes a culture of saving, builds skills for using money and develops responsibility and pride. Bunker Roy The only college in rural India that is fully solar electrified . Semi-literate barefoot engineers have solar electrified over 19,000 houses in 750 villages in 19 countries saving about 1,00,000 litres of kerosene every month from polluting the environment. Unique rainwater harvesting model replicated in 901 remote villages of India and 8 other countries over the world Barefoot Water Engineers have made it possible to provide drinking water to 2.65 million rural children . Founded Barefoot College - places control and ownership in the hands of very poor rural communities who have little or no formal educational qualifications.
