Who Is Buddha? Born Siddhartha Guatama- a noble caste in India At birth a soothsayer prophesied that he would be great in politics or religion. Siddhartha’s enlightenment was brought by the “four passing sights. First studied with Hindi Brahmin Priest Buddhism

After six years of following a strict Hindi lifestyle failed to see an awakening Sitting in deep meditation, he experienced a supreme awakening Experienced Nirvana-an awakening to the truth about life Became known as Buddha and spent 45 years teaching others how to achieve a peace of mind Buddhism

The Four Noble Truths: : 

The Four Noble Truths: Suffering Exist Desire is the cause of suffering Eliminate desire and end suffering One must follow the Noble Eightfold Path to eliminate suffering

The Five Precepts : 

1) Avoid destroying life 2) Avoid stealing 3) Avoid sexual misconduct 4) Avoid lying 5) Avoid intoxicants The Five Precepts

Buddhist believe… : 

Buddha is not a God…but a revered enlightened teacher. Buddhism is a non-theistic religion. In the sense that there are no deities. Rebirth is the process of being reborn into a different form which is determined by karma. Karma- a concept that every action has a positive or negative consequence.
