Some Numbers In the state of Indiana 53.7 percent of licensed RNs are at least 45 years old an additional 25 percent are at least 55 years old Of all RNs in the state ages 55 to 64, about 52 percent admit that they plan to retire within the next four to nine years

Future Numbers There will be an expected 2,281 RN job openings in the year 2011 Job openings for nurses will have grown 22 percent nationwide by the year 2018 and almost 40 percent by the year 2025
