Thor is theNorse God of Thunder Thor is the red-haired and bearded god of thunder. Thor was a much revered god of the ancient Germanic people. Thor owns a short-handled hammer, Mjöllnir, which, when thrown at a target, returns magically to him. His Mjöllnir also has the power to throw lightning bolts. Thursday comes from his name. Thor is the son of Odin, the king of the gods, and the giantess Jord, the earth.
