What Is pH and Why It's So Important For Healthy Living ? Simply stated, pH is the measure of acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Water based solutions with a pH of less than 7 are considered acidic. Water based solutions with a pH more than 7 are considered alkaline. 7 on the pH scale is considered neutral. This is a very basic explanation of pH.
