We can say that Hindu craftsmanship is fused with Islamic architecture. JAMA MASJID : JAMA MASJID Jama Masjid is one of the most splendid mosques of India. Constructed in the year 1423 A.D, the Jama Masjid was established by Sultan Ahmed Shah. Made by using yellow sandstones, the architecture of this mosque is a blend of Hindu and Muslim styling. This edifice was built using items rescued from the demolished Hindu and Jain temples. Supported by 260 pillars, it consists of 15 domes. It lies in the heart of the old city. SIDDI SAIYYED MOSQUE : SIDDI SAIYYED MOSQUE Built in 157s, it is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmedabad. As per the marble stone tablet fixed on the wall of the mosque it was built by the general of the army Sidi Saeed. The mosque is entirely arcuated and is famous for beautifully carved ten stone latticework windows on the side of the arches. The rear wall is filled with square stone pierced panels in geometrical designs. Thus, it is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. SARDAR PATEL STADIUM : SARDAR PATEL STADIUM It is one of the premier Cricket stadiums of India. It is the largest stadium in Gujarat and has an official capacity of 54,000 spectators. It is equipped with floodlights for day-and-night games and is regular venue for Test Cricket and One Day Internationals. MOTI SHAHI MAHAL : MOTI SHAHI MAHAL The Moti Shahi Mahal was constructed in the city of Ahmedabad by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan between 1618 and 1622 when he was the suba, or governor, of Gujarat, which was a part of the Mughal Empire. The palace later passed to the control of the British Raj when Ahmedabad was established as a cantonment in the mid-nineteenth century, and used for government purposes. PARIMAL GARDENS : PARIMAL GARDENS There is a wide spectrum of gardens in Ahmedabad that exhilarate the gleam and appeal of the city. Ahmedabad has been honored internationally by ‘Green City Commendation Award’. AROUND AHEMADABAD IN 2 DAYS! : AROUND AHEMADABAD IN 2 DAYS! The history and culture of gujarat has its roots in its religion. The fairs and festivals celebrated here, have religious significance for it’s people. Joyous environment, colorful dresses, devotion and love for the deities, this is what signifies festivals for any body residing at Ahmedabad. ADORNED CITY : ADORNED CITY NAVRATRI- Navratri or the festival of nine nights is devoted to their goddess. The festival also has the famous folk dance called Garba played with Dandiyas n hand. DEEPAVALI- The festival of lights, is celebrated with the lightning of lamps, decorating the floors with rangolis and bursting fire crackers. UTTARAYAN- People from all age groups come to the roof tops to fly kites. Here people will fly kites and get the thread intertwined with one another and pull on the thread until one of the thread gives way. The sky is filled with a rainbow of kites.
