Our Objective:

Our Objective To create awareness of large economic benefit that can e gained through Northern mountains To receive full marks in Geography project and make our parents proud

Economic benefits available through northern mountains:

Economic benefits available through northern mountains If the government of Pakistan paid attention to the Northern mountains of Punjab they will have found that a huge economic benefit can be made from them via different means . For instance: Mining Tourism Trading etc.

Economic benefits of northern mountains through Mining:

Economic benefits of northern mountains through Mining Pakistan has gained a prominent position in the international market for supplying a wide variety of gemstones and mineral specimens. The northern area of Pakistan is enriched with the variety of mineral treasures that include peridot , emerald, aquamarine, tourmaline, topaz, ruby, sapphire, garnet, red spinel, pargasite , actinolite , diopside , epidote , vesuvianite , axinite , rodingite , sphene , fluorite, apatite, zircon, rutile, azurite, moonstone, amethyst, rose quartz and agate. The following is a list of the most common precious gemstones that can be mined if mining is properly organized in Northern Mountains Aquamarine It is found in Chitral , Kaghan , the Shigar valley of Baltistan and the Neelam Valley of Azad Kashmir. Aquamarine is transparent and ranges in colour from sky blue to sea green. A proper sized gem aquamarine costs 40$ Emerald Emeralds are geologically rare, but fine specimens are located in Swat, Pakistan. Pakistani emeralds are medium to deep green in color and on average cost 50$

Economic benefits of northern mountains through mining:

Economic benefits of northern mountains through mining Garnet Garnets are used extensively in jewelry . mily of minerals with similar structures. Not all are of gem quality. In Pakistan, the blood red pyrope as well as the purple almadine and the green- colored grossularite occur in the Kalat , Quetta, Dir and Swat areas . Costs around 23$ Tourmaline Tourmaline comes in a variety of colors including golden yellow, lime green and golden brown. It is found in pencil-shaped crystals. In Pakistan it occurs in Chitral , Swat, Dir , Gilgit and Azad Jammu Kashmir . It costs around 350$.

Economic benefits of northern mountains through mining:

Economic benefits of northern mountains through mining Organizing a mining expedition costs a lot around us dollar $100,000.But in the long term the benefit is really high because the more we mine the more shafts are discovered and more stones are found. Following is a graph that shows benefit of mining just the 4 gemstones mentioned before for 1 year constantly in Northern mountains . So it can be seen that just one year worth of mining can benefit Pakistan with $300,000 In the graph 100 is equal to $100,000 First month Twelfth month Eight month Fourth month

Tourism:

Tourism Northern mountains also contain plenty of tourist attractions which build up the countries economy. Kaghan valley have many famous tourist attracions like Lazar , Naran , Ansoo , J heel and J heel saif ul Maluk .. Currently Pakistan earns Rs.4,740,000 on average in the winters due to the large number of tourist that come to enjoy the holydays in Pakistan’s cold mountains and tour them.

Trading:

Trading In the karakoram mountains the famous Karakoram Highway connects Pakistan to China and it is also a trade route.Pakistan has an advantage for trading with china as this border links them both.. They are also linked with Afghanistan via the wathan strip. So Pakistan easily trades with these countries and sell goods like timber , mangoes , cotton etc. for high profit. On average Pakistan recieves Rs.5,31,000 profit by trading
