Slide 2:
I conducted secondary research into possible
costumes we could use in our shoot for
the four main characters. I've split this into
two parts for the protagonist and the
antagonists.
Slide 3:
PROTAGONIST We've already decided on
having a suit for the protagonist
as he ventures to London for work.
This is a simple, smart suit we could
use that would show the protagonists
personality. The problem is though, he
would blend in with many of the other
workers around London. A selection of different suits we could
possible use for our protagonist. We could also possibly use
a coat for the shoot due to
the current cold weather
but to also cover a smart
suit away and for
connotations that the
protagonist has
something to hide. We could completely contradict
the smart suit wear and have
trainers for the protagonist to
show he has more character
or keep with traditional
smart shoes.
Slide 4:
PROTAGONIST'S WIFE We have already thought on having
the protagonist's wife to be wearing
pyjamas as she says goodbye to the
protagonist in one of the opening
shots. This would be to symbolise
time setting of morning. We could also use a plain work shirt
for the costume to show she is also
preparing for work. Along with the pyjamas, we
could also have the
protagonists wife to be
wearing slippers to further
emphasise the time setting
as for a greater detail of
mise-en-scene. Similar to a pyjamas costume, we could
have a dressing gown for the wife to wear
for the same effect pyjamas would have.
Slide 5:
ANTAGONISTS Matthew has already announced
that a double-breasted coat would
be a good costume for the antagonists
as a dark coat would look sinister and give
connotations that the pair are hiding
something. We could wear dark suits to give the impression
that the antagonists are trying to fit with the
public in London. We could also wear fingerless gloves
to give a dark and edgy feel to the
antagonists. A dark leather jacket would look
sinister and would also give a
menacing feel to the characters. Black sunglasses for
the characters would
create ambiguity about their identity. Boots would compliment with
gloves and glasses we may use which
overall gives a sinister effect.
