HISTORY OF BASBOUSA Basbousa is an traditional Middle Eastern sweet cake which is originally from Egypt. Semolina, syrup and coconut is some of the main ingredients used.

VARIENTS OF BASBOUSA :

VARIENTS OF BASBOUSA The traditional way of making basbousa is just mixing up the butter, coconut, semolina and all other ingredients and place it in an oven until it becomes golden brown. Then dip this in a sugar syrup, just made by boiling sugar and water.

BASBOUSA WITH YOGURT:

BASBOUSA WITH YOGURT The difference in this type is that we add yogurt . Rest all the ingredients are the same. Yogurt makes the basbousa a little more softer and lighter and also it adds a special flavor to it.

PISTACHIO BASBOUSA WITH CREAM:

PISTACHIO BASBOUSA WITH CREAM Along with the usual ingredients of basbousa , we will add extra milk, eggs for the cream and the pistachio nuts. This contains more calories than a simple Basbousa .
