The Ultrasonic Motion Detector : The Ultrasonic Motion Detector The ultrasonic motion detector sends out pulses and measures the reflection off a moving object. The Microwave Sensor : The Microwave Sensor The sensor sends out microwave pulses and measures the reflection off a moving object. Fast facts : Fast facts Sam Bagno invented the motion detector. The first motion detectors were sold in June 1950. Sam Bagno was born in west Springfield.
