WHAT IS ENVIRONMENT ? Slide 3: World Environment Day which is a world-famous event was founded by the UN General Assembly in 1972. Nearly, 100 nations around the globe celebrate this event. This event commemorates every year on June 5th. Slide 4: The World Environment Day Celebrations will be hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 5th June, 2010. World Environment Day 2010 theme is : 'Biodiversity —Ecosystems Management and the Green Economy’! Slide 5: . The main aim of celebrating the World Environment Day is “Reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect flora and fauna, and save the Earth”. Slide 6: So we take a step towards reduce green house gas and protect our earth from the fever of green house effect which cause our environment ill. FEVER TO ENVIRONMENT ! : FEVER TO ENVIRONMENT ! Atmospheric Temperature Rise Day By Day Ice from the poles of earth melts day by day Skin cancer appears in human being Water contaminated diseases occurs Fresh air is hard to available CAUSES !!!!!!!! : CAUSES !!!!!!!! @ GREEN HOUSE GAS EMMISSION@ POLLUTION@ DEFORESTATION GREEN HOUSE GASES : GREEN HOUSE GASES Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Source: Fossil fuel burning, deforestation Methane (CH4) Source: Rice cultivation, cattle & sheep ranching, decay from landfills, mining Nitrous oxide (N2O) Source: Agriculture (fertilizers like UREA, DDT) CARBON DIOXIDE METHANE NITROUS OXIDE Slide 10: The green house effect is the rise in temperature that the earth experiences because certain gases in the atmosphere trap energy from the sun. Slide 11: An increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect. Slide 12: One of the causes of the greenhouse effect is deforestation. Another source of the greenhouse effect are the emissions of green house gases. Slide 13: Third cause like the Greenhouse effect is water vapor increasing in the air Slide 14: Due to greenhouse gases, the atmosphere absorbs more infrared energy than it re-radiates to space, resulting in a net warming of the Earth-atmosphere system and of surface temperature Without the Greenhouse effect our temperature would drop and we would freeze Green house effect results into GLOBAL WARMING Slide 15: Global Warming has a lot of consequences, It can cause the following: Extreme Weather Increase Evaporation Sea Level Rise Temperature to Rise Ecosystems Hazards such as, Forests, Mountains, and Ecological productivity Health Hazards by increasing the risk of spreading disease NEEDS A DOCTOR !!!! : NEEDS A DOCTOR !!!!
