Shay’s Rebellion : 

Shay’s Rebellion Result of growing debt, high taxes and angry farmers in Massachusetts

After the Revolutionary War... : 

After the Revolutionary War... The soldiers were paid for their duties and were on the way home. When they arrived home they found that the money they were given was not worth what it was when they left. Their farms were not producing food because they were not their to take care of it. So they were broke

Government is Broke Too : 

Government is Broke Too The government spent all their money too! They were pushing the families to pay their land payments right NOW. But NOONE had money So, the only way the Governor knew how to make up for all the money that was spent was to TAX the colonists

The colonists were beginning to get agitated. The government wanted to raise taxes to pay for the war on the very men who fought for Independence from a King who always taxed them. Fired Up Colonists Can you see why the colonists were angry?

A man named Daniel Shay led a revolt to protest the increased debt and taxes. Their goal was to shut down the courts so their property and belongings were not seized by the government. Daniel Shay This revolt is called Shay’s Rebellion
