Isaiah 7:10-14 The LORD spoke to Ahaz, saying: Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God; let it be deep as the netherworld, or high as the sky! But Ahaz answered,“I will not ask! I will not tempt the LORD!” Then Isaiah said:Listen, O house of David! Is it not enough for you to weary people, must you also weary my God?Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall name him Emmanuel. In this last week of Advent, how do you feel as you read about Jesus’ birth? nativity (after murillo) by vincent collado, jr

Slide 6:

Imagine you are at Jesus’ birth… what would you treasure in your heart? “..the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to a son, her first-born. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger” (Lk 2: 6-7) nativity (after murillo) by vincent collado, jr

Slide 7:

Spend some time and share with Mary your feelings and thoughts as you gaze on Jesus. Use these words if they help… “Dear Mary, I see you holding Jesus. I want to hold Jesus in too. Teach me to open my hands to welcome and hold Jesus, God’s true love, in my life and for our world.” nativity (after murillo) by vincent collado, jr

Slide 8:

Be quiet for a moment. Recall all that has been your prayer time. End by speaking to the Lord: “Dear Jesus, Today, I look forward to holding you in my heart this Christmas. Come, Jesus, come. Come and renew my life with your love. Come and teach me to share You generously with all. Come, Lord Jesus, come.” Amen.” Glory be to the Father...
