Say No To Plastic:

Say No To Plastic Abhinav Dey By Abhinav

What Are Plastics ????????:

Plastics are synthetic substances produced by chemical reactions. "Plastics" derived their name from their properties to be molded, cast, extruded or processed into a variety of forms, including solid objects, films and filaments. Plastics As Packing Material:

Plastic has replaced the traditional material ( paper/cloth etc) as packing and carry bags because of cost and convenience which is possibly a wrong choice of material for such use. Even though plastic bags can preserve food and can be used for growing vegetables in a controlled environment, their method of disposal has creates unprecedented pollution problem . Paper or plastic bags: which is better?:

It's an age old question, when it comes time to check bag ? It seems like it should be an easy choice, but there's an incredible number of details and inputs hidden in each bag. From durability and reusability to life cycle costs, there's a lot more to each bag than meet the eyeout when grocery shopping: paper bag or plastics Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth) Paper or plastic bags: which is better?

Plastics VS Paper:

Paper Paper bags are made from trees—specifically, compressed wood pulp Most plastic bags are derived from crude oil or natural gas by-products that have been treated to form long chains of carbon and hydrogen molecules. Plastics Plastics VS Paper Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth)

Paper or plastic — what’s the greener choice?:

Paper, because it is biodegradable . But why not plastic?? Because plastic bags are not biodegradable . They clog waterways, spoil the landscape, and end up in landfills where they may take 1,000 years or more to break down into ever smaller particles that continue to pollute the soil and water. Prefer paper bag than plastics The key of earth is in our hand Preference..... Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth)

However newer technology is also being developed in this regard. This entails the use of DEGRADABLE PLASTICS. The principal is to incorporate into the plastic some chemical that is photodegradable/biodegradable or chemically treatable. By adding starch, biodegradable plastics are generally made. On burial such plastics are attacked by bacteria feeding on starch, which breaks these down into tiny particles that disappear harmlessly into the soil. Some common examples of biodegradable plastics are the use of "non-removable" suture materials in surgery or capsules for drugs, which dissolve slowly in body fluids. like. FUTURE ALTERNATIVE - ECO-FRIENDLY PLASTICS Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth)

More than a 100 million tons of plastic is produced world-wide each year. Though plastics have opened the way for a plethora of new inventions and devices it has also ended up clogging the drains and becoming a health hazard. Many countries, including India, are trying to increase the amount of plastic that is recycled. THE GLOBAL DIMENSION Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth)

1990 - 20006:

The plastic industry, which barely existed about fifty years ago, now is helping the United States economy greatly! In 1996, shipments of plastics added up to an amazing $274.5 billion, a fifty-five percent increase from 1991. Also in 1996, the plastic industry employed more than 1,337,700 jobs. Plastics are everywhere! From your pillows and mattresses (cellular polyurethane or polyester) to cars and hi-tech computers, plastics are there. Since plastic is an insulator, plastic is used to cover almost all wires and electric cords. 1990 - 20006 Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth)

The solution lies in finding- alternative suitable for making Bags and packing material at competitive rate and convenience without having any negative aspect. Educate users to the right disposal methods. Reduce the no of users by reducing the population in the long run. R&d to make plastic more environment friendly. Cost of mfg bags with traditional material can be subsidized by printing advertisement on the bags. Encourage reusable bags from traditional materials by suitable advertisements to make it fashionable. Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth) THE SOLUTION

The Plastic Panacea:

In 1989, the U.S. used over twelve billion pounds of plastic for packaging designed to be thrown away as soon as the package is opened. In the 1990s, this figure doubled. Fortunately, more and more people are becoming aware of the damage plastic does to the environment. They are speaking out against it, protesting irresponsible industries and getting laws passed banning polystyrene and other plastics. The Plastic Panacea Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth)

Household plastic products stayed unchanged in landfills, in forests, in oceans and along the side of the road for hundreds of years, creating environmental issues throughout the world. Finally, the technology is available to put this problem to rest. …………….. Plastics (a special worm eating our Earth)
