RESERVE BANK OF INDIA INTRODUCTION . A BANK IS A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION , WHICH COLLECTS MONEY FROM THE INDIVIDUALS ,FIRMS AND LENDS THIS MONEY TO THOSE WHO NEED OF IT. . IN OTHER WORDS BANK ACTS AS THE MEDIATOR BETWEEN THE DEPOSITORS ON ONE HAND AND BORROWERS ON THE OTHER . . BANK IS AN INSTITUTION WHICH HELPS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY IN THE COUNTRY .

.THE WORD BANK IS DERIVED FROM THE GERMAN WORD(BANCK) WHICH MEANS A JOIN STOCK FUND OR A COMMON FUND . .BUT IN INDIA BANKING SYSTEM STARTED MUCH EARLIER. WE HAVE THE WRITING OF (MANU) AND (ARTHASHASTRA) OF KAUTALIA . .IT SHOWS THAT BANKING SYSTEM STARTED MUCH BEFORE IN INDIA . THE EARLIER BANKS WERE MERCHANTS ,MONEY LENDERS ETC.:
