Dr. Abdul Rao is a well-familiarized name among people for his contributions and great observation power in the field of medical science. Slide 3: Abdul Rao has received numerous awards for his contributions to medical science. Abdul Rao has received numerous prestigious honors including award from the British Vice Chancellor's Committee; Professor Ad Honorem by the Universidada de Antioquia, Medellin, Columbia; Slide 4: Distinguished Professor Award from The Institute of Kidney Diseases & Research Center, Ahmadabad, India. Abdul Rao’s biographical profile has been recognized in Marquis Who's Who in the East, Marquis Who's Who in Science & Engineering, Marquis Who's Who in America, and Marquis Who's Who in the World. Slide 5: Abdul Rao also serves as a member of the Tennessee Organ Transplantation Task Force. Dr. Abdul Rao has authored more than 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He has presented more than 180 lectures.He played an influential and active role in developing and facilitating the implementation of a strategic plan. Slide 6: In order to enhance the research and graduate education at all Tennessee Board of Regents universities. Abdul Rao served at USF Health and Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies for the College of Medicine as the Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies. Slide 7: About Dr. Abdul Rao Dr. Abdul S. Rao did his medical degree from Dow Medical University, Karachi, Pakistan, in 1983. After completing his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery, Abdul Rao joined the Department of Physiology, Boston University School of Medicine and graduated in 1989 with a M.A., in Physiology. Slide 8: He completed a year of post-doctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Neurology, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Abdul Rao joined the Nuffield Department of Surgery, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK, as a Clinical Instructor from 1990-1993.
