Objectives. :

Objectives. To create interest among students to develop reading skills. To enable the students perceive the text and to make them familiar with different areas of learning

Definition:

Definition Comprehension means ‘ability to understand It improves a student’s grasping power and empowers him/her to read between the lines.

Guidelines:

Guidelines Step I Read the passage carefully to get the gist .

Step II:

Step II Give a second reading to acquire better understanding. Pay attention to difficult words and underline them.

Step III:

Step III Read the questions and Underline the important parts in the passage which contain the answers.

Step IV:

Step IV Frame the answers

Take Care:

Take Care Avoid Patch work Check Your Grammar Prefer indirect form of narration Use the same tense as that of the question. Don’t give your own view unless asked .

Practice Passage One day in the country , when he took the train at Hudson station he saw a pretty neighbour of ours, young Mrs. Wainwright sitting in the car with her boy. He stopped to say how do you intending to sit and talk with her. But she said ,as she greeted him ,’ I am taking my little son into the dentist …… he’s had such a sad accident, Mr. day. He’s broken off two front teeth.
