Slide 2:
Hercules´s second task is to kill the Hydra, a big monster with nine heads. It lives in the Lake of Lerna. Near the palace, Hercules meets his young cousin. Iolaus. But Hercules can´t stop and talk with him. He only says : I´m going to the Lake of Lerna. I must kill the Hydra there. Iolaus wants to go with him and help him.
Slide 3:
When they arrive at the lake, it is nearly dark. Hercules puts some fire onto an arrow and shoots it over the water. Suddenly the nine heads of the Hydra come out of the lake .
Slide 4:
Hercules quickly takes his sword and cuts off one of the Hydra´s heads. But from the stump come two more new heads. Hercules then cuts off a different head, and again two more heads come from that stump. Just then, the goddess Athena arrives.
Slide 5:
`How can I kill the Hydra? 'asks Hercules. `Tell me quickly!´ `When you cut off heads, you must burn the stumps.´ So Hercules cuts off the monster´s heads one by one and Iolaus burn the stumps. When Hercules cuts off the last head, the Hydra dies.
