Targeting Cuba:

Targeting Cuba Since 1959, Cuba has been the victim of terrorism campaigns which include invasions, threat of nuclear war, sabotage, and economic, diplomatic, political and media aggression.

Targeting Cuba:

1959 – 1997: U.S. Carries out 5,780 terrorist actions on Cuba. 1959 – 2003: 61 planes and boats are hijacked. 1960 – 1961: 75 tons of explosives are smuggled into Cuba, followed by 110 attacks, all by the CIA. 1961 – 1996: 58 attacks from sea. Targeting Cuba

Fidel Castro:

Fidel Castro A Communist and dictator, Castro was also a passionate nationalist with a distaste for the U.S. "There is not Communism or Marxism, but representative democracy and social justice in a well-planned economy.” - Fidel Castro The U.S.'s attacks were aimed to topple Castro's rule. During the Bay of Pigs in 1961, Cubans repelled U.S. Troops, capturing and killing almost 1,000. Since then, there have been many attempts on the U.S.'s part to assassinate Castro.

Fidel Castro Though a top enemy of the United States, Fidel Castro has brought positive changes to Cuba, including, but not limited to: Free, good quality healthcare for all 98% literacy and education Lower infant mortality rates than most Western nations Renewed ties with Venezuela, thus access to oil
