Background:

Background This Is our Fourth Year Competing in FRC.

Dean’s Homework :

Dean’s Homework As Dean Kamen Assignment for the year was to put FIRST, first, This team has been working hard to accomplish that.

Outreach Program :

Outreach Program One of most important activities this year has been community outreach. First and most important, our team incorporates students from all 6 high schools in Pitt County.

Team Work:

Team Work While most sports encourage rivalry between schools, The Pitt Pirates are encouraging cooperation. When most schools are competing, were working together.

Board Meeting:

Board Meeting When we spoke to the Board of education they could see what a great opportunity the FIRST program was for students across Pitt County. This led the Board to assist in locating a build space for the team and later, our program became eligible for course credit.

Assisting Rookie Teams:

Assisting Rookie Teams When we hosted the NC robot inspection seminar, we got a chance to talk to a lot of rookie coaches and students. Team 3737 (4 H Roto Raptors) 3493 (Retro Robot Squad) 3715 (Craven County Robotics)

Students over Mentors:

Students over Mentors Even as our team has grown, we haven’t forgotten that this program is still about the students. FIRST is all about helping students to learn and experience the world of technology.

Technical Knowledge :

Technical Knowledge There’s a lot of technical knowledge that any student can learn as a part of the Pitt Pirates.

Pitt Pirate Leadership :

Pitt Pirate Leadership Every Pitt Pirate is encouraged to be a leader. For the Pitt Pirates, that means three things: Have a plan, Execute your plan Do your homework.

Leadership:

Leadership Leadership isn’t a skill that is limited to the team captains.

FIRST, First First Safety Animation first Chairman’s Award submission First Grant Proposal Self-Funded First time all 6 high schools are represented

Future Plans With all these improvements, you might think it’s time to rest. Not hardly.
