Post Millennium View :Post Millennium View View that the world is eventually going to be Christianized and that Christ is going to return at the end of this time period known as the Millennium. The second coming, resurrection, the general judgment, and the introduction of Heaven and Hell. Has been around since at least 1202 A.D. Joachim of Fiore – history was 3 ages, age of the father (old testament), age of the Son (period of grace) and the age of the spirit (he said it would begin around 1260 A.D. and the world would be converted followed by the second coming, etc) Revelations says that their will be a resurrection 1000 years before the general judgment.

Amillennial View :Amillennial View View that there will be no Millennium before the end of the world. We are living in that time and there is a parallel development of both good and evil. At the end of the world is when Christ will come at his second coming at which there will be a general resurrection and general judgment. Began around the mid to late 300’s with Augustine.

Premilleanlism :Premilleanlism View that holds that the second coming of Christ will occur prior to the millennium. At that time, the establishment of Christ’s Kingdom on this earth is for a literal one thousand years. Eternity will begin after the thousand year’s are concluded. There is the believe that he is coming before the millennial reign, but that there is no literal reign on earth. This idea has been around since the early first centuries of the church. Also, there is the debate of when the rapture will happen.

Pre-Tribulation View :Pre-Tribulation View Teaches that the Rapture of the church (both dead and living saints) will occur before the seven-year Tribulation period, that is, before the 70 the week of Daniel 9:24-27. This view started in the 1800’s: Some say it started with Margaret Macdonald who was a prophetess in the Irvingite sect (the Catholic Apostolic Church. Others say it was John Nelson Darby , followed up by C.I. Scofield.

Pre-Tribulation continued :Pre-Tribulation continued Support for pre-tribulation rapture. Revelation 3:10 Revelation 4:1 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7

Mid Tribulation View :Mid Tribulation View View that holds that the Rapture of church will occur at the midpoint of the seven years of Tribulation. This view also states that the last half of Daniel’s seventieth week is Tribulation. Began?? Support for Mid-Tribulation Daniel 9:27 Daniel 7:25 time and times, and dividing of times is half of the week. The 7th Trumpet in Revelations is the last and final trumpet. Revelation’s 12:6,14

POST TRIBULATION VIEW :POST TRIBULATION VIEW View that teaches that the Rapture and the Second Coming are facets of a single event that will occur at the end of the Tribulation when Christ returns. The church will experience all events preceding this. Began with the early church and has been held throughout history. Support Matthew 13:30 John 5:28-29 John 6:39-40 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 2 Peter 3:4-10

WHAT DID JESUS SAY? :WHAT DID JESUS SAY? Matthew Chapter 24.

OTHER NOTABLE REFERNCES :OTHER NOTABLE REFERNCES Jeremiah 30:1-10 Daniel 9:27, 7:13-14, 12:11

What is Revelation’s :What is Revelation’s Revelation comes from the first word of the book in Greek. This word is APOKALPSIS, which means “the unveiling of something prievously unrevealed. In Revelation, Christ and His eternal program are fully revealed, so the book provides a fitting capstone to the New Testament.

FOUR APPROACHES TO REVELATION’S :FOUR APPROACHES TO REVELATION’S Idealistic/Allegorical – symbolic presentation of the eternal struggle between good and evil, or between Christianity and Anti-Christianity. There is no specific historical or prophetic events or persons are in view. Preterist- sees Revelations as describing simply the historical or contemporary events of John’s day in symbolic form. Historical – the book is presenting in symbolic form the course of world history from New Testament Days through the return of Christ. Futurist- Views most of the book as still future, presenting the judgments of the Tribulation Period, the return of Christ, the Millennial kingdom, and the eternal state.
