Grades 4-5Ages 9-10 :

TweensGrades 6 - 8Ages 11-13 :

TweensGrades 6 - 8Ages 11-13 The junior youth class, “Tweens” is a newly formed class to meet the unique needs of youth ages 11-13. This class provides experiences that will help young people meet faith friends and have a safe place to express their feelings. We use the LIVE B.I.G. curriculum which includes a DVD experience that lets them see how other youth live their belief in God. Lessons also include Contemporary Christian music, bible stores, and activities to connect their lives to the bible story or B.I.G. idea. This class will help youth grow as children of God by taking what they learn during Sunday School into their everyday lives. So Tweens…come and discover how to take God’s love and share it with God’s BIG world!

YouthGrades 9 - 12Ages 14 - 18 :

YouthGrades 9 - 12Ages 14 - 18 The Senior youth class welcomes teens ages 14-18. In the open and relaxed atmosphere, teens will discover the relevance of the Bible to their daily lives. Teens often struggle with complex moral and ethical issues. A central theme, based on these various issues, is discussed and supported by scripture from the Bible. Youth are invited to share their thoughts with each other or just listen to the experience of their faith friends. Each week, youth are encouraged to except a “challenge” that will give them an opportunity to apply what they learned in class to their daily lives. This Sunday School class is a great way to get away from the fast-paced, chaotic life of a teen-ager and rest in God’s presence.

With 26 members on the class roll, it is the largest class at Mount Olivet. Three ladies share teaching one month at the time, and there is a very able assistant teacher to fill in when needed. The class supports several mission projects such as the Bible Teaching Association program at two local high schools, The Society of St. Andrews gleaning program, Cabarrus Cooperative Christian Ministries, church youth projects, individuals when there is a need, and many others. Each month cards are sent to shut-ins, to remind them that we care and miss them, and get well cards are sent to church members when needed. This Sunday School class has been here for many, many years, and it is hoped that it has made a significant difference to our church and our community. We invite anyone to join us and share some laughter and fun, some tears and fears, and most of all, God's presence among us through it all!

The present teacher is Clarence Horton. The class also supports many worthy causes, particularly at the Christmas Season. In addition to regular financial support of Project Agape, Rev.
