Introduction :

Introduction Internet users frequently need to store send or receive private information. This method of protecting information is known as encryption. A major drawback to encryption is that the existence of data is not hidden. A solution to this problem is steganography .

Slide 2:

" Steganography is the art and science of hiding communication; a steganographic system thus embeds hidden content in unremarkable cover media so as not to arouse an eaves-dropper’s suspicion. “ In the past, people used hidden tattoos or invisible ink to convey steganographic content. Today, computer and network technologies provide easy-to-use communication channels for steganography

Types Of Steganography:

Types Of Steganography Music Steganography Image Steganography Text Steganography

Text Steganography :

Text Steganography Steganography in text files can be accomplished through various techniques Line-shift coding, Word-shift coding Feature coding Syntactic/semantic methods.

Music Steganography:

Music Steganography Music steganography embeds the secret message into the music files. The different methods are: Low-bit encoding Phase coding Spread spectrum Echo data hiding

Image Steganography :

Image Steganography Many techniques are available for use in the image of steganography LSB insertion in BMP images : Here data is inserted at the LSB of each Pixel. Random LSB Insertion : Here Random pixels are selected & data is inserted at the LSB of selected pixel. Wavelet Transform : Here wavelet transform is applied before encrypting the data. DCT Transform : Here DCT transform is applied before embedding the data.

Short Overview Of Image Steganography:

Short Overview Of Image Steganography When user selects an image & decides the algorithm to be applied, he will be given the MAXIMUM amount of data that can be embedded in that image. After this user will select FILE to be Embedded & will provide password to be used at the time of Extraction . At the Extraction time, user will provide password, image from which data to be extracted , & algorithm to be used.

Feasibility Study:

Feasibility Study Technical Feasibility we can run on any Operating System Use of Java as a programming language Economic Feasibility S/W & H/W Requirements Are Cheaper small project Technical Feasibility we can run on any Operating System Use of Java as a programming language Economic Feasibility S/W & H/W Requirements Are Cheaper small project

Feasibility Study Continue :

Legal Feasibility No restrictions on its use. Operational Feasibility Excellent User Interface. User Friendly. Social Feasibility Used For Transfer Of Secret Messages By AI Agencies. Used For Security Against Any Terrorists . Feasibility Study Continue

Requirement Analysis:

Requirement Analysis Hardware Requirements Hard disk space at least 1 MB for full installation. Portable software can be run on any machine Software Requirements System is developed in Java considering its image processing capabilities . To execute the software JVM must be installed on the machine.

Future Enhacements:

Future Enhacements Development of the software for working on the data security system with image/ audio/video file. Antivirus support. Development of the software for working on the all images format files. Try to increase capacity of the data which is to be transfer through image.
