The state has required all school district to come up with a technology plan. It is up to us as teachers to pave the way for our students future. What are some resources given help us accomplish our goals.The District: The District Number of Campuses 38 Enrollment 35149 Percent Econ Disadvantaged 27.30 Number of Campuses with direct connection to the internet 38 # of classrooms with direct connection to the internet 4000 Computer to student ratio 3 students per computer Computer to teacher ratio 1 teacher per computer # of campuses who need to complete the star chart 38District Technology Plan: District Technology Plan Each district in the state of Texas is required to complete and submit a district technology plan. Improvement plans include goals to address needs of the district. The district provides parameters for the Technology department to follow while developing the plan The plan is reviewed by committees before it is submitted to the state. A time line for when goals are to be completed.Technology Goals: Technology Goals Provide a well balanced curriculum to all students in order to meet individual students needs. Integrating existing and emerging technologies into the curriculum. Promote a school environment where students will learn and practice real world skills by using technology to communicate with others, access information, and solve problems.Technology Goals Cont.: Technology Goals Cont. Improve a comprehensive staff development program will on going support to insure effective use of technology. Continue and improve a community partnership on the use of technology in the learning process. Continue to improve technology resources to enhance and facilitate a learning environment conducive to student achievement.How can you help?: How can you help? Know the goals Attend staff developments and be an active participate in technology training. Complete the STaR survey every year. Work to integrate technology into the classroom with the district goals in mind.E-rate : E-rate Universal Service Fund(E-rate) is a resource available to help our school and the district be able to achieve it ’ s technology goals E-rate provides discounts for school to use in order to make sure that the school is able to provide a good technology education.
