Pet overpopulation is a serious problem. Each year millions of domestic animals are humanely put to death because they can not find homes. There are multiple shelters in Gainesville, FL that work not for profits but out of good faith. The Gainesville Pet Rescue works not only to help these animals but give them a second chance at life.

THE GOOD NEWS IS YOU CAN HELP But why is this happening? What’s the problem?

Problems :

Problems People don’t neuter / spay their pets. Tom cats are left to wander the neighborhood leaving people to give away free kittens that may never find a home.

Problems:

Problems People think if they breed their dog they will make money off the sale of the puppies. This is often not the case, depending on demand and mix of breed. As a result many puppies become strays.

Problems:

Problems People abandon pets on the side of road. (Yes, even purebreds)

Solution:

Solution Making donations of food, litter, toys, or money, helps the animals have adequate facilities they need to find good homes.
