Bascialy pollution is of six types: AIR POLLUTION LAND POLLUTION NOISE POLLUTION WATER POLLUTION THERMAL POLLUTION RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION TYPES OF POLLUTION AIR POLLUTION : AIR POLLUTION The disturbance cause by human activities which affect the atmosphere is called air pollution. Bascialy air pollution is of two types: INDOOR AIR QUALITY OUTDOOR AIR QUALITY INDOOR AIR POLLUTION There are many sources of indoor air pollution in any home. These include combustion sources like oil, gas ,kerosene, coal. OUTDOOR AIR QUALITY Outdoor air quality as the name indicates that it is the consideration of pollution outside the home. It is known as ambient air pollution. : GLOBAL WARMING Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of earth’s surface. We can say that the globe is getting warm by seeing the features like widespread melting of snow and ice, increase in oceans temperature. The green house gases are the main cause of global warming. The gases like nitrous oxide, carbon monoxide etc are known as g.h gases. GREEN HOUSE EFFECT:- The green house effect is a process by which radiative energy leaving the planetary surface is absorbed by some atmospheric gases. OZONE DEPLETION : OZONE DEPLETION As we know that the ozone is the envelope of gases around the earth which protects the earth from harmful sun radiations. Now because of harmful gases a hole has been made which is called ozone depletion. Bromine oxide ,Water vapour are the main sources of ozone depl. . WATER POLLUTION : WATER POLLUTION Water pollution is a contamination of water by foreign matter that deteriorates the quality of water . Basically water pollution is of two types: Point source Non point source POINT SOURCE POLLUTION: Point source pollution refers to contaminants that enter a water way through a discrete conveyance, such as pipe or ditch. NON POINT SOURCE POLLUTION: It refers to diffuse contamination that does not originate from a single discrete source. it is often the cumulative effect of small amount of contaminants gather from a large area. LAND POLLUTION : LAND POLLUTION Land pollution is pollution of earth’s natural land surface by industrial, commercial, domestic and agricultural activities SOURCES OF LAND POLLUTION: Agriculture Mining Sewage sludge Industrial Toxification of chemicals NOISE POLLUTION : NOISE POLLUTION Noise pollution is a type of energy pollution in which distraction, irritating or damaging sounds are freely audible EFFECTS OF NOISE POLLUTION Human health ENVIRONMENT . Noise pollution can cause aggression, hypertension, high stress levels, hearing loss, sleep disturbance high noise levels can contribute to cardiovascular effect. RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION : RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION The radioactive pollution is defined as the physical pollution of air, water and other radioactive materialsThere are commonly three types of radiations: SOURCES: Nuclear power plant Nuclear weapon: Transportation: THERMAL POLLUTION : THERMAL POLLUTION Thermal pollution is the degradation of water quality by any process that changes ambienThe common cause of thermal pollution is the use of water as a coolant by power plantst water temperElevated temperature typically decreases the level of dissolved only into water. The decrease in level of this can harm to aquatic animals Release of unnaturally cold water from reservoirs can dramatically change the fish, reduce river productivity.such as fish, amphibiansature You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
