Slide 2: FROM YOUR DAUGHTERS =) Slide 5: Papa ki pari hoon main Slide 6: B H A V N A I have always been a daddy’s girl (a lot of people use this term but very few know the responsibility it comes with) Being a daddy’s girl means thinking about your family before making any decision. It means picking up your phone even when you know its about your credit card statement. It means singing karaoke all night, sometimes via speaker phone. It means always being ready to change decisions that you were certain about. It means forgiving others and finding faults within yourself first. But most importantly, it means becoming a good human being that your father can be proud of. Even after all my highs and lows, your belief is what keeps me going… Slide 7: N E H A When I look back at all the things you did and said, its amazing how each of them acted like building blocks to finally make me who I am today. All those long drives with conversations about academics and the future, even though were not my favorite part of the trip but yet played an important role in my understanding what your expectations were of me. All these years, I have worked towards being that person that you had imagined me to be, the first time you held me in your arms. I hope I am close to it Now that I think about the challenges of being a good parent, i don’t have to look too hard for good examples. I simply have to reflect and remember what you did… Slide 8: Soul mates are made in HEAVEN... Slide 9: Binod, Meeting you was chance, being your friend was a choice, marrying you was fate, and looking back at the twenty five years I wouldn’t change a single thing. You have given me everything that I could’ve wished for. With love, Sarita Slide 10: You are an encouraging brother, a supporting son/ son in law, a fun mama/chacha, a loving husband and an inspiring father. You are what brings us all together. Slide 11: FROM YOUR COLLEGE FRIENDS!!!! Slide 12: From Maliwal & Family There are just so many dimensions to Binod's personality and each better than the other that it is a challenge on what not to comment on and which ones to avoid. That he loves food and is acompulsive nibbler may be the understatement of the decade. Give him some mutton and rice or some rajma and chawal or teettar at Kapoorji’s dhaba or even bhujiya and we know what happens. While quality is important for Binod but not at the cost of quantity! Slide 13: His phatta's are to die for, whether it is the new one's he conjures every time we sit with him or the real ghisa pita one's ( e.g. how does a centrifugal pump work !) which we have all heard hundreds of times. I don't think it is the sixth sense in him about phatta's, I think it is his first sense and probably the only sense! What would life be without air, what would it be without water? Well it would certainly be better than without his wisecracks. Keep them coming Binod. Have you ever seen Binod in a sullen and somber mood? Yes, just like you have seen a black swan. How can anybody be always full of energy, ever eager to take life forward and always working on a plan come hail or high water? Slide 14: He is bright. Yes, damn bright. The dealer business he built for Maruti in India or the franchise he has built for Infosys in USA or the jugadu ideas he comes up to untangle a situation are just a few examples of the amazing talent he has. And more than bright he is a very open person. Open to reason, open to ideas and open to new things, except as it relates to western music and Rajesh Khanna! Slide 15: People of course, like him for the life he injects in their lives, but they love him for the very close and loving relationships he builds with them. It could be with you or I, it could be with the chowkidar in the guest house at Kullu Manali or it could be with our grandparents. He connects with people through his heart. He gives more than he takes from these relationships. You can be damn sure that if you are in trouble and need help (or don’t need help), Binod will be around. We are fortunate that he has touched our lives. They broke the mould when they made him. Love, Raju Slide 16: From Ashish & Family Happy Birthday Binod!
