Slide 1:This is a picture that PowerPoint’s Recolor feature cannot handle. Select it, copy, Open MS Paint (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint) and Paste this picture into Paint. Select the colors and paint the picture. If your bucket of paint spells outs ide an additional area, choose Edit>Undo or press Ctrl Z. This problem happens when the space is not entirely enclosed. The solution is fill in the gap using the Line tool.Each picture element in MS Paint is a pixel. Pixels are small, single-colored squares which compose a bitmap image. It takes 72 pixels to make one inch. When finished painting your clip art, click on the square marquee and click & drag around the e to select it,select from the Menu bar Edit>Copy, then go to PowerPoint slide & press Ctrl V to paste it to your slide. If the area of the slide behind your clip art is anything other than white, simply click on the Set Transparent Color tool on the Picture toolbar.


Slide 2:A powerful spreadsheet tool used to: E X C FOR e L Analyze Chart Manage data Personal Business Financial Use Paint the letters F O R using the paint bucket. Then delete this message. Format your school logo as bullets for the list: Personal, Business, Financial Use. Be creative with the letters in the words by using the colors in your logo using Pixie.


Slide 3:Identify parts of Spreadsheet Use textbox to identify. An arrow is drawn to each part. Match the colors in letters to any color on excel spreadsheet using pixie. Did you know the intersection of a column & row is called a cell. A worksheet contains 256 columns & 65,536 rows which means that over 16 million cells are available for data.


Slide 4:Insert a green ? where it is located in the spreadsheet when entering data. Explain what it means. Insert a red x where it is located in the spreadsheet when entering data. Explain what it means. Notice the cell that begins This is a lo. What can you do to see the whole message? Slide 5:Start Excel. Follow the instructions and enter the data on page 211. For Page Setup of all Excel documents in Marshall’s class see handout. Save Practice 1 in your H Drive in Computer Applications folder in Chapter 7 folder as Practice 7.1 Highlight cells A1 through E9 & Edit>copy or Right-click>Copy. Slide 6:Complete the table about mathematical operators that can be used in a formula, page 217. Read pages 217-218. Complete Practice: Examples on pages 218 – 219 on an Excel spreadsheet. Save in Chapter 7 folder in H Drive. Highlight the cells and copy, then paste on this slide. Title it: Labels & Formulas in Excel Formula Must Begin With an = Sign


Slide 7:Display the formulas in Practices 1 & 2, copy & paste to this slide. Create a subtitle. Display the formulas in Examples Practice, copy & paste to this slide. Explain what keys you need to press to display formulas, page 218. Displaying Formulas Example


Slide 8:Open Grades, Create a column for Average and enter formulas to find the averages. Also find Test Averages. Highlight only the cells with data & copy. Paste to this slide. Display the formula view, copy & paste to this slide. Practice: Grades Part 3, page 221 - 223


Slide 9:Start Word. Open DEPT MEMO. Follow directions on page 224. Insert a picture representing school, grades, or students in the Memo. Select the picture, Format>Picture>Layout>In front of text. Move the picture where it is attractive on the Memo. Match the Words: To, From, Date, & Subject to colors in the selected picture using pixie. Copy & Paste to this slide. Practice: Grades - Part 4, page 224


Slide 10:Create a new Workbook – Practice: Widget Invoice, parts 1 & 2, page 229-230 and 233-236. Logo is found in the O Drive. Highlight only cells A1 through D22 and copy & paste to this slide. Change all text color of Your NameHour Practices Widget Invoice, Chp 7, Parts 1&2 to match colors in logo. Insert a Pop-up Message “ Widget Invoice Prepared by Your Name” Adding a Picture & Hyperlink


Practice: Widget Order Form, page 236-237 &Pop-up Message :Create a pop-up message for the 2 objects on this slide.Select the New Year Baby picture, choose Insert>Hyperlink. Choose In This Document on the Link to panel. Click Locate the slide that your object resides on in the Select A Place in This Document window. Finally, click ScreenTip to open the Set Hyperlink ScreenTip dialog box and type Happy New Year Your Name! The text can contain up to 248 characters.You decide what the Popup should be for the Horns. Practice: Widget Order Form, page 236-237 &Pop-up Message Using pixie, match the text on the left to the exact color of the red horn. Insert a Pop-up message in each picture. Practice: Grades – Part 5 of 5, page 231 &Play Animated Gif :Resize the object to make it larger by dragging one of its sizing handles until it is the desired size.Note: Animated Gif images do NOT play while you’re working on your presentation in Normal. Play the animated Gif picture, by holding down the CTRL key as you click the Slide Show button (3rd icon from the left in the bottom left-hand corner) to launch your slide in a miniature Slide Show window. Insert another animated gif and watch it as a miniature slide show. Practice: Grades – Part 5 of 5, page 231 &Play Animated Gif Insert an appropriate animated gif on this slide. Match all text to colors in your gif.


Slide 13:Align Happy New Year as the example shows to create a 2-D effect. Using Word Art, type your name. Duplicate it. Change the color of the top one to a lighter color. Adjust so it has a 2-D effect. Now do the same thing by typing Shawnee Mission your school name. 2-D Effect Create a 2-D Effect using WordArt with the words: Business Form & Professional Invoice. Place the definition by the word. Business form is a document format that you develop for a business activity that occurs often. A Professional Invoice is a bill that a company or individual creates for professional services. Place an appropriate picture on this slide. Match the Word Art to the colors in the picture.


Purchase Order :PowerPoint 3-D tools are only available to certain objects in PowerPoint such as WordArt & AutoShapes. Draw 4 different AutoShapes. Insert a picture into each AutoShape. (Use the down arrow by the paint bucket>Fill Effects > Picture > Insert.) Select the AutoShape, click the 3-D button on the Drawing toolbar and select 3-D settings. Click the direction button. Click on the arrow next to the 3-D Color button and choose a color for your three-dimensional frame. Click the Depth button and either choose one of the other preset depths, or enter your own value in the Custom text box.Each AutoShape should have a unique setting, tilt, and depth. Use some tilting tools on the 3-D Settings toolbar. Adjust the lighting by clicking the Lighting button. Use Pixie and match the colors in the words Happy Valentine’s Day and also match a color in your pictures to your AutoShape’s shadow. Purchase Order A Purchase Order is a Business form that a firm completes & sends to a vendor or supplier. Type the words Purchase Order in Word Art and create a 3-D Effect. Find an Excel Purchase Order Template, Copy & paste it to this slide. Match the colors in the text to colors in your purchase order form.
