Premium member Presentation Transcript WHEN PARLE-G CAME TO INDIA : WHEN PARLE-G CAME TO INDIA since 1929, the people of India have been growing up on Parle biscuits & sweets.Initially a small factory was set up in the suburbs of Mumbai city, to manufacture sweets and toffees. The year was 1929 and the market was dominated by famous international brands that were imported freely.Parle Glucose and Parle Monaco were the first brands of biscuits to be introduced, which later went on to become leading names for great taste and quality. The recent introduction of Hide & Seek chocolate chip biscuits is a product of innovation and caters to a new taste, being India’s first ever chocolate-chip biscuits. OVERVIEW : OVERVIEW Parle Products has been India's largest manufacturer of biscuits and confectionery for almost 80 years. Makers of the world's largest selling biscuit, Parle-G, and a host of other very popular brands, the Parle name symbolizes quality, nutrition and great taste. With a reach spanning even to the remotest villages of India, the company has definitely come a very long way since its inception.Many of the Parle products - biscuits or confectioneries, are market leaders in their category and have won acclaim at the Monde Selection, since 1971. With a 40% share of the total biscuit market and a 15% share of the total confectionary market in India, Parle has grown to become a multi-million dollar company. Vanspati=For Carbohydrate. Salt=Mineral & Vitamin for Development. Milk=For calcium build teeth and bones. All Raw Materials coming from outside Mumbai by private transportation. Parle-G is maintaining stock of raw materials for 7 days except the milk because milk is a perishable raw material so that can be stored for only one day that’s why they have to need of regular supply of milk. If some reasons raw material are not supplied regularly that time they are using this saving stock for production. They are not accumulate raw material more than 7 days. (except Milk). After 6 days they are used accumulated raw materials for production process. They are storing all raw materials near to production department RAW MATERIAL TESTING : RAW MATERIAL TESTING Checking quality of raw materials in their own laboratory. Checking raw materials and various packing as per standards laid down. Setting standards for various raw materials and packing materials per PFA (Products and Foods Act) and other food related legal Acts. Maintained / Maintaining quality of finished product & insurance that. Controlling trails.Collection data for stastical quality.Handing of customer complaints thru customer service cell.Quality control of biscuit and confectionery product at our other manufacturing location . MIXING : MIXING The quantity of manufacturing biscuit in proportionate in that ratio Raw Materials mixed in mixer machine. Mixing of Raw Materials process continuous for 3 minutes 20 seconds. The mixing process continue automatically and it is operated by two person.if one person went for lunch or any reason that time his partner can handle all machinery. MOULDING : MOULDING After completed mixing process all the mixed materials go on cutting machine. The cutting machine cut the biscuit and are rolled by machine and the company logo of Parle –G is being printed on biscuits. The company molding 10,000 biscuits per minute. Here all biscuits got a particular shape which is attracted to customers. After molding process, moving belt is carrying all biscuits for baking process. BAKING : BAKING After completing molding process all biscuits are being put in oven for baking process. In oven there are three processes. Removing Moisture First the moisture is removed by oven because moisture can make changes in the taste and quality of the biscuits. For removing moisture completely, there having temperature of oven is 340oC. Cook the biscuits In that process biscuits are putting for cooking at maximum temperature 340oC. This process is going for 3 minutes. Coloring the biscuits In that process the biscuits are being coloured in the oven. Brown colour is giving to the biscuits. About Machinery Parle Company has 260 feet oven and have owned three oven. It is the largest oven in Asia. COOLING : COOLING After baking process completed the backing biscuits are taken to cool in cooling machine. Baked biscuits contain steam so without removing steam that biscuits can not lasting for long periods or up to its expiry period. Parle Company cooled biscuits by natural way. Moving belt moved the biscuits from baking machine to packing machine within 5 minutes. After removing the steam that biscuits made so hard for packing This is also 4 to 5 minutes in cooling process before starting cooling process all raw wastage removed by automatically in the wastage machine. PACKING : PACKING After cooling process completed biscuits goes out in packing department for packing. The remaining wastage biscuits removed by automatically. At one minute 1000-1500 biscuits packed by automatically.Parle-G packing department have 10 multipack machine. Per multipack machine packed 140 biscuit’s packet per minute. Parle-G company have own printing press and printing department to fulfill all packing materials for biscuits and chocolates. They buy whit paper for printing packing papers from other company. IS PARLE- G HEALTHY FROM SAMOSA : IS PARLE- G HEALTHY FROM SAMOSA Samosas can be safely counted as one of the nation’s most favoritesnack items. Deep fried and stuffed with mashed potatoes and peas, thesamosa is an excellent snacking option for us greasy, junk food lovingIndians. On the other hand, the Parle – G biscuits are the nation’smost favorite tea time snack! Made up from what flour, sugar and edibleoil, these biscuits are an excellent source of carbohydrates (52.4 g)and iron. Here’s what the Calories have to Say: Asingle Samosa contains 150 calories, while the entire packet of 11Parle – G biscuits contains about 316 calories, which means that asingle biscuit comes up to 28 calories. This swap is a no-brainer when you compare the Trans fat laden,greasy and oily Samosa to the glucose biscuits. Even the fat content ofthe glucose biscuits is low (9.2g) as compared to the samsosa’s 13.2 gper piece! PARLE FACTS : PARLE FACTS Every day 100 tones biscuits are manufactured by company. They are keeping 7 days finished good’s stock due to reason of any problem arises in the production process. There is having separate maintainence department which is working for 24 hours. This department includes Engineers, Fitters , Tuners. Electricians and any other professionals for maintaining Machineries properly and regularly. 10,000 workers are working in all Parle-G factories in India. 750 workers are working in Parle-G Product Ltd. in Vile-Parle at Mumbai.
