Slide 10:Maths Assessment at End of Key Stage 1. There will be a task for children operating below level 2
Children operating at level 2 will be given a maths test.
Children who achieve a 2A on the level 2 test will take the level 3 test, if the teacher assesses this as appropriate.
Help can be given with reading the questions.

Slide 13:How can you help your child with maths? Make sure your child knows their 2, 5 and 10 times tables – also relate this to division.
Practise number bonds
A key part of every numeracy session in school is mental maths, so practise at home. Children must get used to solving problems in their heads, rather than resorting to a calculator.
Slide 14:Think about time. Look at clocks, both digital and analogue. Estimate how long a certain activity will take to do and see if you are right!
Work out how long it is until the next mealtime. Play games: how long is a minute, starting from now?
Slide 15:Talk about pocket money with your child.
Help her to add it up week by week, and work out whether she can afford a particular toy or treat. Shop using money and calculate change.
