1982 :

1982 The Pill's impact on women in the work force is significant. With highly effective birth control now at their disposal, 60% of women of reproductive age are employed in America.

1988 :

1988 Surveys show that birth control has disappeared from the list of medical research's 35 top priorities. Birth control is now excepted as a norm in America.

Feminist movement :

Feminist movement “[The Pill] sparked the feminist and pro-choice movements. Once women felt they were in charge of their own bodies, they began to question the authority of their husbands, their fathers, their bosses, their doctors and their churches...women were ready to explode into personhood’” -Ladies’ Home Journal, 1990
