COMPLEX (more that one molecule: veggies, beans, oats, whole wheat) Carbs are transformed by the body into blood sugar (mostly glucose), the body's basic fuel. Carbs are a necessary part of our diet. Remember…. … NOT ALL SIMPLE OR COMPLEX CARBS ARE CREATED EQUAL! This is Why….

*Regulating Blood Sugar* What the heck is that? What does this have to do with CARBS? I know….you have Lots of questions…. LETS SAY…. You’ve ate a meal HIGH in sugar or refined carbohydrates…. What happens?

The Reason for why this happens is ………Many of the foods we eat today release WAY too much insulin… In responses to being stressed out, the pancreas produces more of the hormone insulin and stops growth hormone (involved in burning fat). The result is the insulin stimulates the body's cells to take in and store glucose as FAT. :

The result is the insulin stimulates the body's cells to take in and store glucose as FAT. So what foods don’t spike insulin!? Let me just tell you again: We need some carbs in our diet, But not ALL carbs are created equal…

I bet you didn’t know Foods like… : 

I bet you didn’t know Foods like… Whole wheat breads, pastas, and sugary cereals ALL create a big spike in blood sugar… Just like In: white breads, pastas, cereals! Whole wheat may digest at a slower rate and have more nutrients which are good, but you might as well be eating a big spoonful of sugar! Bottom line… When the wheat grain isn’t grinded into any flour, it takes the body much longer to digest it. As a whole grain, (not grinded into flour) it doesn’t cause as high a spike in blood glucose. In other words, “whole” grains should ideally be truly “whole” when eaten.

Most Premade Orange Juices and Fruit juices will spike your blood sugar and actually increase abdominal fat! When companies take a whole fruit and "juice" it, most of the "pulp" and other solid matter gets removed. This is true even if the label reads "contains pulp“. The problem is that the solid matter contains fiber and other nutrients that suppose to slow the absorption rate of the fruit into your bloodstream. This is why drinking fruit juice is a much more potent fat producer than eating the whole fruit.

The Job of the liver… After ingesting processed foods, the LIVER is in charge of filtering out these chemicals, artificial sweeteners, and preservatives. It uses SOOO much energy, that it doesn’t have enough left to breakdown all the fats that you have ingested… leaving the fat to be stored. It’s like if you have 2 jobs… you can’t spend as much time and effort on one as you would like because you have another to worry about.

The more RAW the food………. the BETTER. TRY AVOIDING Artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, processed soy products, foods with a long list of ingredients you can’t pronounce… that is a bad sign…. TRY ADDING Foods with only one or a couple more ingredients … keeping it simple.

The Truth about CALORIES…. :

Yes, it’s true calories in=calories out will determine if you loose weight or not… BUT Counting can get tedious and time consuming, so once you are aware of the Quantity & Quality of the food your eating, that is more important for weight maintenance. Listening to your inner hunger signals… Surprisingly …wow Most people need to eat more!

Your body will actually go into a “starvation mode” once it doesn’t get adequate calories to function, storing AS MUCH body fat as it can to hold on too for fear of not getting any more food. This is where most of us fail and think starving is the right thing to do…
